How to Join
- Get recommended by a current member through word-of-mouth
- Come hang out with us at one of our regular gatherings and get a feel for who we are
- Email bonnydooncoop@gmail.com with your interest in joining
- Fill out a Household Profile so we have some basic info about you and pay a $65 annual membership fee (we use this money to do fun things and vote on how to use it and no one is turned away for lack of funds.)
- Get added to our shared google calendar and Whatsapp group messager so you can stay in the loop with gatherings
- Host a potluck or suggest a play date or just come to one!
- Learn about how we work so that you can find the best way for your family to participate.
Is there a time commitment or participation requirement?
We understand you are very busy. We are very busy too! We also understand that as families move through different transitions and life stages, there are varying degrees of availability to participate or engage in helping us organize our gatherings.
Currently, there is no time commitment or participation requirement. However, if you are not able to come to any of our gatherings, and we only see you once every 3 months, then it’s going to be hard to get familiar with your kids or for you to build connections and you might not receive what the co-op has to offer– which is really about connection!
We do have small roles that help us stay organized and organically take turns showing up as needed. Some are as simple as sending a text message once a week to prompt the group on who is hosting the next potluck. Some roles are a little more involved like helping the group decide on where our Spring camping trip will be. For now, there is no role requirement AND it’s fair to say that we all give what we can, when we can, and it all works out.
